Job summary

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a cleaner at the DOT Headquarters site in Washington DC, performing housekeeping across designated areas under the SEIU Local 32BJ agreement.

Work hours are Monday–Friday 5pm–11pm. Candidates should have 1 year of janitorial experience, be able to work independently, and comply with safety regulations. Health benefits under the CBA and equal opportunity employment are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a janitor (1 yr experience).
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferred.
• Familiarity with SDS.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.
• Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Must be willing and able to work any day or night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, etc.).
• Dust and wipe down surfaces.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
• Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
