Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to maintain and repair class 8 trucks and mixer trucks in our construction fleet. You will diagnose issues, service brakes, hydraulics, engines, and electrical systems, and perform on-site or shop repairs.

Qualified candidates have own hand tools, a clean driving record, and the ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat/Tanker endorsements. We offer medical, dental, vision, 401(k), profit sharing, and generous PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on Class 8 trucks and mixer trucks.
• Must have own hand tools; company provides large and specialty tooling.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background, physical/functional and drug screens.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of trucks used for construction, including dump, Ready-Mix, lowboy, straight trucks, trailers.
• Repair brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, body/chassis, engine and powertrain.
• Work in shop or field environment.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and paperwork; use diagnostic software.
• Follow safety policies; perform all other duties.
