Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic in Beaverton, OR, to maintain and repair Class 8 and mixer trucks for construction. The role involves work in shop or field environments, handling brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, engines, and powertrains, with adherence to DOT regulations and safety policies.

Candidates should have own hand tools, be able to obtain Hazmat/Tanker CDL endorsements, and pass background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and mixer trucks. Some construction equipment repair experience preferred.
• Must have own hand tools. Company provides large and specialty tooling.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional and drug screen
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of trucks used for construction including: dump trucks, Ready-Mix trucks, lowboy's, straight trucks, trailers, etc
• Brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, body/chassis, engine, and powertrain repairs
• Shop or field environment
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and paperwork
• Ability to use diagnostic software
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties assigned
