Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking a skilled truck mechanic to maintain and repair Class 8 trucks and mixer trucks used in construction. You will work in a shop or field environment, using diagnostic software and hand tools, and must meet a clean driving record and CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.

This full-time role offers evening hours 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, with flexible days and a $3 night differential.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and mixer trucks; some construction equipment repair experience preferred.
• Must have own hand tools; company provides large and specialty tooling.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check, physical/functional and drug screen.
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of trucks used for construction including: dump trucks, Ready-Mix trucks, lowboy's, straight trucks, trailers, etc
• Brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, body/chassis, engine, and powertrain repairs
• Shop or field environment
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and paperwork
• Ability to use diagnostic software
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties assigned
