Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking a Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of construction and mining equipment in a shop or field setting. Responsibilities include hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, undercarriage, engine and powertrain work, plus basic welding and diagnostic software use.

Applicants should have prior mechanical experience on construction equipment, own hand tools, and a clean driving record with potential CDL Hazmat/Tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on construction equipment. Truck repair experience helpful.
• Must have own hand tools. Company provides large and specialty tooling.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Must pass pre-employment background, physical/functional and drug screen.
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of construction and mining equipment.
• Hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, undercarriage, engine, and powertrain repairs.
• Basic welding ability.
• Shop or field environment.
• Ability to use diagnostic software.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• All other duties assigned.
