Job summary

Knife River Northwest in Oregon is seeking a full-time mechanic to maintain and repair heavy trucks used in construction, including dump trucks, Ready-Mix trucks, lowboys, and mixer units. Work may be in a shop or at field sites with DOT paperwork and safety policies to follow.

The ideal candidate owns their hand tools, has a clean driving record and can obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and can pass pre-employment background, drug screen, and medical checks.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and mixer trucks.
• Must have own hand tools; company provides large and specialty tooling.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical/functional and drug screen.
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of trucks used for construction.
• Brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, body/chassis, engine, and powertrain repairs.
• Shop or field environment.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and paperwork.
• Ability to use diagnostic software.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• All other duties assigned.
