Job summary

The YMCA of Southern Maine invites applications for a Child Watch Associate. Under the Youth Development Director, you will lead safe, age‑appropriate activities in the Prime‑Time program for children and families, aligned with the Y’s core values.

Shifts are Monday–Thursday 4:00 PM–7:00 PM, starting mid‑October, with sites in Portland, Freeport and Biddeford. You’ll monitor safety, support transitions, and report as required to the branch leadership.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Experience working with youth preferred.
• Detail oriented; reliable, dependable and punctual.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (YMCA will train).

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and supervision of children in the Prime-Time program.
• Organize activities and transitions between activities for smooth flow.
• Engage with children and families in a positive, supportive manner.
• Follow YMCA policies and report incidents to supervisor.
• Attend meetings and perform special projects as assigned.
