Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, part of Trinity Health, seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in providing timely medications to patients. The role covers sterile and non-sterile compounding, unit dose dispensing, and use of automated systems on patient care units.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certification: Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification; Active registration with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills.
• Aptitude in mathematical manipulations (ratios, proportions, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions).
• A desire to career build, with ambition to elevate their working pharmacy knowledge to the extent of their Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile products (including chemotherapy) using aseptic technique, in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prepare non-sterile products (including hazardous medications), in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Repackage bulk oral medication using Parata Systems and Medical Packaging Inc robots.
• Facilitate medication dispensing via Automated Dispensing Cabinets on patient care units.
• Assist in the dispensing of orders/prescriptions through the pharmacy inventory system.
• Assist in inventory control by processing daily Pharmacy Department order and managing stock rotation and expiration dating.
• Assist in billing of patients and other units.
