Job summary

Historic Tours of America is seeking a part-time Tour Conductor to drive our trolley shuttling guests through the citys haunted sites. Two to three nights per week, weekends and holidays, with no narration required beyond minimal spieling.

A CDL Class C (or higher) with Passenger Endorsement is required. Most tours run about 1 hour 30 minutes; evening shifts run 5:00 pm–10:00/10:30 pm. Base pay is $18/hr plus gratuities, with a $1000 hiring bonus and eligible rewards.

Qualifications

• Must have a CDL Class C (or higher) with Passenger Endorsement.
• Must be able to board and exit the trolley and assist guests with boarding and exiting the trolley.
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English to communicate with CASTmembers and guests.

Responsibilities

• Drive/shuttle guests for tours with safety and professionalism.
• Occasional weekends and holidays required.
• Tours are about 1 hour and 30 minutes in duration.

Our ideal Tour Conductors have a passion for helping people and making their vacation experience a memorable one. A sincere love of history and the culture of our city is ideal.

The Tour Conductor must be able to drive a non-air-conditioned vehicle, on busy public streets in a safe, competent manner.

Most tours are approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in duration.

• $1000 Hiring Bonus ($500 pd after 90 day anniversary, $500 pd after 6 month anniversary) *must meet attendance requirements
• Must have a CDL class C (or higher) with Passenger Endorsement.
• Evenings: 5:00 pm – 10:00/10:30 pm - may run later depending on number of guests/tours

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• CDL C (or higher) with Passenger Endorsement required
• Must be able to board and exit the trolley and assist guests with boarding and exiting the trolley
• Must pass annual Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR) checks as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
• Ability to learn routes as assigned
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow CASTmembers, the general public, law enforcement and emergency personnel
• Ability to sit for long periods of time and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable and verifiable driving record of at least three years
