Job summary

Seattle Preparatory School seeks a Neighborhood Relations/Campus Security team member to patrol the neighborhood and campus, enforcing parking rules and maintaining safety. The role reports to the Dean of Students and requires evening hours from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM during the school year.

Responsibilities include monitoring for disturbances, operating camera systems, conducting evacuations, and assisting with events. Valid CPR/First Aid and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, and a minimum of two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine patrols of the neighborhood to ensure that students are in adherence to our neighborhood agreement for parking.
• Communicates daily upon arriving with the Campus Ambassador/Security lead regarding evening responsibilities.
• Helps to enforce garage rules associated with speed limit, parking, and student behavior.
• Will make reasonable efforts to mitigate tensions with neighbors.
• Monitors students in buildings and/or on campus; watches for unauthorized persons and disturbances.
• Monitors surveillance camera system and prepares incident backups for the Dean of Students or law enforcement as needed.
• Conducts sweeps of the facilities upon arrival and secures assigned areas.
• Escort students and visitors as needed.
• Conducts locker and property searches as assigned.
• Provides assistance for scheduled after hours activities on and off campus.
• May be asked to be a security presence during evening events.
• Assist with evacuation during drills and emergencies or lockdowns.
• End-of-shift checks to secure buildings, doors, and windows.
• Prepare incident reports as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
