Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Building Attendant II to maintain cleanliness across the dining areas and kitchen in UT Main Campus. The role involves dishwashing, routine cleaning, and inventory support in a large-scale food service operation.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, ensuring sanitary conditions, and assisting with staff training. This is a 32-hour weekly, 9-month position with shift differentials for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Six months of commercial cleaning experience.
• Six months of experience using commercial cleaning equipment such as dish machines, carpet care, or floor care equipment.
• Must complete and maintain Food Safety Training.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks in dining area, kitchen, bathrooms, floors and surfaces.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment including dish machine.
• Restock dishware and assist with front-of-house supplies.
• Maintain sanitation and safety according to university guidelines.
• Provide training and guidance to temporary staff as assigned.
