Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Building Attendant II (Dining) to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, dining area, and dish room of a large-scale food service operation on UT MAIN CAMPUS. The role offers a 40-hour weekly schedule with a $2.00/hour shift differential for designated evening and weekend shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Six months of commercial cleaning experience.
• Six months of experience with cleaning equipment such as commercial dish machines, carpet care, or floor care equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks across dining areas, kitchen, bathrooms, and related spaces.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment including the dish machine.
• Process dishware, sort silverware, scrape/stack dishes, and restock for front of house.
• Restock and move dishes to proper places within the unit as needed.
• Remove trash periodically and clean/line trash cans.
• Assist with restocking of convenience store merchandise as needed.
• Maintain proper sanitation practices and safety, ensuring productivity.
• Follow food safety and university sanitation policies and procedures.
• Oversee use of chemicals and equipment and manage storage and maintenance.
