Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers in Gulf Breeze, FL is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support patients during recovery. You will supervise patients, monitor safety, and assist with daily activities in a part-time evening schedule.

You will report to the Director of Operations, collaborate with therapy and medical staff, and help ensure a positive, safe treatment environment. A valid DMV record and 21+ age are required; an associate degree or higher is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a safe driving record with a clean DMV report for the last 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years old to comply with motor vehicle insurance requirements.
• Experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment preferred.
• Experience with patients at various levels of care, including detox and residential.
• An associate's degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient Supervision and Safety: Monitor patients and facility grounds, conduct safety checks, and communicate with medical staff for attention needs.
• Waive Testing: Measure and report vital signs, conduct UDS and pregnancy tests, and comply with company policies.
• Patient Interaction and Support: Maintain respectful and professional interactions with patients, offering emotional support, referring clinical concerns to therapy staff.
• Communication and Team Collaboration: Share relevant patient information with the Team Leader, Supervisor/Operations Director while collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality care.
• Daily Program and Facility Management: Assist in patient transport, group coordination, and recreational activities. Ensure facility safety, supervise supplies, and manage patient discharge preparations.
