Mercy Intake Specialists play a critical role in evaluating mental health and substance use needs for patients in the Emergency and Intake departments. You will provide crisis support, coordinate admissions and referrals, and guide families through treatment options, working closely with clinical teams to ensure timely access to services.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation accuracy, and adherence to Mercy’s standards and ethics.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related mental health field.
• 2–3 years of behavioral health experience.
• LCSW/LPC licensure preferred.

Mansioni

• Conduct mental health and substance use assessments in hospital settings.
• Provide crisis intervention during behavioral health emergencies.
• Coordinate admissions, referrals, and transfers with clinical teams.
• Obtain and verify insurance information and pre-certification requirements when applicable.
