Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Part-time Nursing Assistant to support the Behavioral Health inpatient unit (Psychiatric Acute 3 West). The role provides patient care under the supervision of registered nurses, with duties including bathing, feeding, mobility, and routine data collection.

This position requires enrollment in a nursing program, current GED/HSED or high school diploma, and BLS plus Nurse Aide credential. Ability to lift and assist with patient transfers is essential.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in nursing program with expected completion in 6+ months.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with EMR systems.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, hygiene, and mobility.
• Record vital signs, I&O, weights, and other data in EMR accurately.
• Conduct focused rounds and communicate patient needs promptly to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care tests as directed.
• Handle routine errands and maintain nursing station and equipment.
