Job summary

YAI is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist to support individuals with I/DD at City Line 1 & 2 IRAs. The role includes direct care, teaching daily living skills, and implementing Behavior Support Plans under BIS supervision.

You will lead shift operations, coordinate community inclusion activities, collect data, and mentor staff on clinical interventions. A Bachelor’s degree is required and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related Human Services discipline with I/DD experience.
• Formal training and experience as Direct Support Professional (DSP) in a YAI program.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and assist with ADLs and transfers.

Responsibilities

• Performs DSP duties and ABIS responsibilities to supervise and care for individuals.
• Leads community inclusion activities and coordinates staff to document outcomes.
• Monitors supervision levels and communicates updates to staff and leadership.
• Trains staff on habilitative and behavioral programming using the EMOE system.
• Participates in team meetings and contributes to treatment plans and data collection.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements and follows agency policies.
