Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year related laboratory experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to identify and evaluate proper specimen collection and storage.
• Interpersonal verbal and written English language skills sufficient to exchange information with physicians and other colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Accepts, processes, identifies and labels specimens according to protocol.
• Operates automated instrumentation and assists in upkeep.
• Transports specimens according to protocol and ensures specimen integrity.
• Monitors inventories and restocks supplies as needed.
• Performs specimen receipt, triage and basic administrative duties.
• Adheres to safety, quality and confidentiality policies.
