Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Lab Assistant for a 12PM-8:30PM shift. The role involves processing and labeling specimens, operating automated instruments, and supporting the pathology lab workflow.

Responsibilities include receiving, triaging, transporting specimens, and assisting senior staff with diagnostic testing while maintaining specimen integrity and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to identify and evaluate proper specimen collection and storage.
• Manual dexterity and acuity to prepare specimens, screen specimens, prepare solutions, and operate instrumentation/computer.
• Concentration and accurate work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Clear spoken/written English to communicate with physicians and colleagues.
• Ability to perform venipuncture techniques.
• Proficient with computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Label specimens and requisition forms accurately.
• Restock and organize supplies for laboratories.
• Manage specimen transport, receiving, archiving and disposal per procedures.
• Prepare benches/workstations for daily workload; reload instruments.
• Assist senior staff in specimen retrieval for diagnostics.
