Job summary

Oak Park Oasis in Oak Park, IL is seeking a dedicated Activity Aide for a full-time role with shift 12pm-8pm and rotating weekends. You will help deliver an engaging activity program for residents, coordinate with staff, and support orientation for new admissions.

Responsibilities include planning, documenting paperwork, posting menus, maintaining bulletin boards, and ensuring supplies are stocked. Previous eldercare experience and cultural sensitivity are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education.
• Creative ability in group activities or crafts.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing activities planned per established procedures.
• Assist the Activity Director as required.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other facility departments.
• Collect, assemble, and complete all paperwork as needed.
• Follow up with residents who are unable to leave their rooms (bedside activities).
• Assist new admissions with orientation as necessary.
• Maintain resident bulletin boards with updated information.
• Post daily menu on all floors as required by regulation.
• Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
• Report unsafe or hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your supervisor immediately.
• Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.
• Ensure supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
