Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Technician for its flagship Detroit facility. The role focuses on installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of automated distribution equipment on a 2nd shift (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM), four days a week including Saturdays.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting relay logic, PLCs, and motor drives, as well as maintaining electrical and control systems. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, read schematics, and use Maximo for job documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years of related experience.
• Engineering Technology Trade School Diploma preferred.
• Combination of experience and education considered in lieu of diploma.
• Must meet physical requirements (stoop, lift 50 lbs+, climb stairs/ladders).

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic and PLCs.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components of forklifts and automated cranes.
• Read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics.
• Document repairs using Maximo work order system.
• Adhere to OSHA safety requirements.
