Job summary

Kautex in the Detroit area is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (Controls) to inspect, test and troubleshoot plant equipment while performing preventive maintenance on production lines.

The role requires PLC troubleshooting with Siemens hardware, pneumatics/hydraulics knowledge, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The position supports cross-functional teams and may include weekend/overtime work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Willing to work 3rd shift: 10pmam.
• 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician I OR associated degree in related field.
• Technical training certificates or journeyman card preferred.
• Able to use precision measuring tools and meters.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, tests and troubleshoots plant equipment; performs preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Understands pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics with limited supervision.
• Troubleshoots electrical systems using schematics and wiring diagrams to identify root causes.
• Follows Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements for maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoots PLC-controlled equipment using Siemens PLC hardware and ladder logic.
• Supports improvements to safety, quality, uptime and efficiency on assembly lines.
• Performs repairs, installations, adjustments and modifications to plant equipment.
• Collaborates with production, engineering and maintenance to implement line improvements.
