Job summary

Kautex Detroit is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (Controls) to inspect, troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment, with emphasis on PLCs and automated systems in a high-volume automotive environment. You will work third shift, apply LOTO procedures, read electrical schematics, and collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to improve safety, uptime and efficiency.

Applicants should have 3 years of related experience or an associate degree, and be able to operate forklifts

Qualifications

• Inspects, tests and troubleshoots plant equipment and performs preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Understands hydraulics, pneumatics and robotics with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoots electrical systems from prints, diagrams and control layouts.
• Follows Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements for maintenance work.
• Troubleshoots PLC-controlled equipment using Siemens hardware and ladder logic.
• Supports line improvements to boost safety, uptime and efficiency.
• Operates and maintains equipment safely, meeting plant standards.
• Works with production, engineering and quality teams on improvements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and troubleshoot plant equipment and perform preventive maintenance.

• Enforce LOTO and PPE before maintenance and repairs.
