Ford in the United States is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for Thermal Systems to own the thermal hardware design across coolant loops, refrigeration/heat-pump circuits, and HVAC. You’ll translate thermal performance targets into robust, manufacturable components from concept through production release.

You’ll collaborate with system and subsystem engineers, controls, test teams and suppliers to optimize packaging, routing and DFMA.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design of automotive components or systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA, NX, or 3DEXPERIENCE).
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Aufgaben

• Lead mechanical design of thermal system hardware across subsystems.
• Design thermal hardware in 3D CAD from concept to production release.
• Package and route thermal hardware while resolving space constraints with adjacent systems.
• Translate performance targets into manufacturable geometry with proper tolerances and seals.
• Develop designs optimized for manufacturing processes and high-volume assembly (DFM/ DFA).
• Apply GD&T, perform tolerance stack-up analyses, define critical dimensions.
