Job summary

Optimal Solution Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of thermal system hardware across multiple subsystems. You will translate performance targets into manufacturable 3D CAD designs and optimize for high-volume production.

You will package and route hardware within the vehicle, balance space constraints with adjacent systems, and apply GD&T and tolerance analyses to ensure fit and function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in automotive components or systems.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (CATIA/NX/3DEXPERIENCE) for part/assembly modeling.
• Solid GD&T knowledge and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and production part release processes.
• Familiarity with heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and pressure systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of thermal system hardware across subsystems.
• Design thermal hardware in 3D CAD from concept to production release.
• Package and route hardware through the vehicle with other systems.
• Translate performance targets into geometry, flow paths, and heat exchangers.
• Develop designs optimized for molding, brazing, stamping, extrusion, and machining.
• Apply GD&T, perform tolerance stack-up analyses, define critical dims.
• Support DFMEA and robustness analyses with the team.
• Create and release detailed drawings and manage BOMs.
• Collaborate with system engineers, controls, tests, and suppliers.
