Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking a Senior Thermal Controls Engineer to develop, implement, optimize and test control algorithms for electric vehicle thermal systems. You will collaborate with controls, embedded, and integration engineers to deliver robust thermal management solutions.

You will design software in MATLAB/Simulink, own it through bench and vehicle testing, and drive model-based development, code generation, and validation in a fast-paced environment in the Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical or related).
• 2+ years of embedded controls software experience.
• Strong knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink.
• Direct experience in vehicle-level controls design for EVs/HEVs.
• Strong background in Model-Based design in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with auto-code generation in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Familiar with git version control.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control software for vehicle thermal management in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Own software through testing and validation on bench and in vehicle.
• Collaborate with embedded/integration engineers to implement, test, debug and calibrate thermal control algorithms.
• Work with controls architect and modeling engineer on strategies for battery, powertrain, HVAC, and brakes.
• Ensure thermal management schemes meet system requirements.
• Develop vehicle-level test requirements and detailed test plans.
• Provide guidance in controls development to team members.
• Operate in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment.
