Job summary

Range Zero Emissions in Seattle seeks a qualified technician to diagnose and repair electric vehicles, including hydraulics and high voltage systems, with a strong focus on safety and quality. You will document work orders, order parts, support inventory, and respond to after-hour emergencies as directed.

A 2-year automotive tech degree or 1+ year shop experience is required; ASE is a plus; CDL and DOT certs preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in automotive or truck technology; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• ASE certifications are encouraged, but not required
• 1+ years of relevant vehicle repair experience
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to write and communicate effectively, interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment including service truck
• Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record
• Class A/B CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period
• Obtain a DOT medical certification card
• Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical due to the role being deemed safety sensitive position
• Able to operate equipment safely

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs electric vehicles from various OEMs
• Uses a high degree of independent judgment to repair a variety of complex vehicles which involve mechanical, hydraulic and high voltage electrical systems
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Willing to respond to after hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor
• Work collaboratively with OEMs and other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Look up parts, pull parts and document parts used for repairs
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory
• Assist with inventory management
• Other job duties as assigned
