Job summary

Slate Auto is seeking a highly skilled Service Validation & Labor Time Technician to join our Service Engineering team in Troy, Michigan. You will own on-vehicle development of removal and installation procedures, time studies, and validation of service procedures and diagnostic content.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years as an automotive technician, with emphasis on EV high voltage repairability, and strong knowledge of time-study documentation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of an Automotive Vocational Program from an accredited automotive training institution.
• ASE Master Technician Certification.
• Master Technician Certification from an automotive OEM.
• 8+ years of automotive technician experience with Hybrid or Electric Vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Create and validate time studies and labor time allowances across vehicle commodities.
• Document time study results in approved time-tracking systems.
• Collaborate with service partners to maintain a detailed labor time guide.
• Validate on-vehicle repair procedures and diagnostic content through development milestones.
• Support field technical inquiries and special tool development with on-vehicle testing.
