Job summary

Slate is seeking an experienced Operations Manager, General Assembly, to lead our GA team in the electric vehicle space. You will drive safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and 12+ years in high-volume operations, with strong automotive process knowledge and proficiency in MS Office. The role requires flexibility for shifts and overtime, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in operations management in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills interacting with all plant levels.
• Ability to build relationships with plant leadership and customers.
• Ability to lead diverse workforce, coach and mentor.
• Strong knowledge of Automotive, General Assembly, Production, Process and Maintenance.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement systems.
• Knowledge of process systems, quality, throughput, standardization, and launches.
• Ability to manage complex projects with clear communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Assembly Team to meet safety, quality, and production targets.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale improvements.
• Oversee General Assembly personnel including maintenance, quality, and tooling/engineering.
• Review daily expenditures and resolve anomalies.
• Lead change management and workforce engagement with coaching and feedback.
• Ensure compliance in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive cost savings and raise quality and product safety.
• Monitor launch curves for new programs and implement PDCA as needed.
• Coordinate project plans with maintenance and engineering.
• Eliminate waste across the business.
• Foster teamwork and proactive problem solving.
