Job summary

Kett Engineering Corporation seeks an EVOC Triage Engineer to join our Plymouth, MI team. This role blends data analytics with hands-on vehicle diagnostics to rapidly triage, track, and drive resolution of fleet issues across EV systems.

You will diagnose vehicles onsite using CANalyzer and related CAN tools, document findings in tickets, and coordinate with drivers, technicians, and engineers to accelerate reliability growth. Occasional short-notice travel may be required to remote locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced technical environment (automotive, aerospace, or related hardware-testing).
• High proficiency in Jira for ticket creation, workflow management, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of complex vehicle systems; experience with Electric Vehicles (EVs) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Issue Triage & Tracking: document, prioritize, and assign emerging problems using Jira; analyze trends and elevate high-severity issues.
• Investigate & Document: gather logs and feedback from test drivers; ensure diagnostic data is captured and linked.
• Facilitate Failure Analysis: create tickets for hardware issues and coordinate parts; route to engineering or suppliers for root cause analysis.
• Act as a Key Liaison: serve as the main communications bridge between drivers, workshop, and engineering groups.
• Maximize Fleet Uptime: prioritize fleet schedule and track workshop repair tickets from inception to closure.
• Coordinate Vehicle Updates: oversee OTA software updates; perform manual flashing when needed to verify resolutions.
