Job summary

Proterra in Greer, SC is seeking a Field Service Technician II to support customers during development, testing, and product launch. This role provides hands-on support for OEMs to install Proterra products in their vehicles, serving as first line of installation, diagnosis, and interfaces.

You will work with application and service engineering during development and production, assist with mechanical mounting, electrical HV/LV, and diagnostic messages between Proterra components and OEMs, and

Responsibilities

• Work closely with application and service engineering during development and production phases
• Support customers with mechanical interfaces including mounting and physical interfaces, electrical HV and LV, and controls interfaces including messages and diagnostics between Proterra components and an OEM
• First line of support for hands-on troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical, controls, and software issues with customers
• Diagnose electrical issues with customers, including wiring, pinouts, damages/chafes affecting functionality
• Collect CAN traces via CANalyzer and other CAN capture tools for diagnosis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with Proterra and customer engineers to perform repairs and fixes, including autonomous repairs as needed
• Build relationships with technical contacts at customers and 3rd party partners, fostering trust and collaboration
• Continuously evaluate Proterra processes for improvement and propose methods to enhance efficiency, robustness, and quality
• Provide training support to customers about diagnostics and safe handling of the product
