Job summary

ChargePoint is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to lead end-to-end investigations of electrical failure modes in EV charging hardware. You will isolate faults, interpret test data, and document root causes for cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on lab work with electronic components and PCBA, plus the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics, or related field (0–2 years experience welcomed).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and component data sheets.
• Familiarity with PCBA, MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors, relays, and related failure modes.
• Experience with or exposure to lab equipment and basic failure analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead system- and component-level failure analysis for field returns, NPI, and yield excursions.
• Perform hands-on electrical and physical failure analysis for fault isolation in electronic products.
• Define and execute test plans for functional electrical testing and fault analysis; report findings to stakeholders.
• Communicate root cause conclusions to engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to identify root causes in field, manufacturing, and design.
• Drive CAPA closure and engage suppliers or contract manufacturers as needed.
