Job summary

EVgo seeks an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to own hardware design for major subsystems in EV charging hardware. You will lead controller and PCB development, define interfaces, manage BOMs, and work with systems, mechanical, test, and software teams to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance across projects.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate on DFMEA, and drive design maturity from prototype to production, while navigating with suppliers and global partners as part of

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience
• Experience with high-voltage power electronics is desirable
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional design reviews

Responsibilities

• Own hardware design and lead development of major controller and PCB designs
• Define electrical interfaces between subsystems such as power cabinets and dispensers
• Maintain BOMs and release wiring schematics with version control
• Lead design validation of prototype hardware with debugging and characterization
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, test, firmware teams to meet performance and reliability goals
