Job summary

Waymo in Mountain View, CA seeks a Charging Automation Lead to architect a zero-touch charging network for a global autonomous fleet. You will guide integration of robotic charging arms, rapid energy systems, and Battery Energy Storage to scale high-density charging.

This hybrid role reports to the Director of Global Workplace & eMobility and requires collaboration with product managers, developers, and external vendors to meet site requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level technical degree required; related field accepted.
• 5+ years experience with Charger Management Systems, API development, and data automation.
• Strong Python skills; experience with Autobot or similar recommended.
• Experience with OCPP/OCPI and offboard data communications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical lead for seamless data integration between vehicle controls, charging hardware, CMS, and cloud apps.
• Lead the integration of robotic automation into charging infrastructure, focusing on system communications.
• Drive smart buildings design and automated test scripts for EV charging features from development to activation.
• Define and enforce quality standards; integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
