Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to support installation, validation, trial, and launch of EV battery manufacturing equipment at TBMNC in Liberty, NC.

The role focuses on hands-on assembly, calendering/rolling processes, laser cutting/welding, and coordinating with suppliers and construction teams. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, proven ability to manage capital projects, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of equivalent engineering experience.
Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
Hands-on assembly operations experience is required.
Experience with equipment installation, validation, trials, commissioning, or production launch.
Experience with calendering/rolling equipment or processes.
Experience with laser cutting or laser welding of foil or metal materials.
Ability to read, interpret, and modify 2D/3D drawings.
Experience with engineering/design software (AutoCAD/CATIA/Creo).
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

Lead procurement, validation, installation, pre-production trials, and launch of EV battery manufacturing equipment.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets.
Create manufacturing process plans and equipment specifications.
Coordinate installation activities with stakeholders (vendors, construction teams).
Monitor installation and address field issues affecting safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
Develop countermeasures to keep projects on track.
Review mechanical/electrical/civil designs related to installation.
Provide feedback on equipment sizing, routing, materials, and installation requirements.
Create drawings, technical documents, progress reports, and presentations.
Plan and coordinate pre-production and mass-production equipment trials.
Verify equipment performance against requirements.
Support continuous-improvement and manufacturing-process optimization.
