Job summary

UNC Greensboro seeks an EUC Technical Services Coordinator to provide frontline AV, presentation, and instructional technology support across Elliott University Center and campus classrooms. You will ensure systems are reliable for meetings and events, and assist with user guidance and troubleshooting.

Reports to ITS Learning Technology and Client Services and collaborates with campus partners to maintain high-quality audiovisual services across EUC spaces and classrooms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide audiovisual, presentation, and hybrid meeting technology support across Elliott University Center spaces and campus classrooms.

  • Assist users with operating presentation technology and connecting devices.
  • Coordinate support for events including setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment.
  • Collaborate with Classroom Technology and Technical Services teams to ensure high-quality services.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

ITS Learning Technology and Client Services is committed to delivering responsive, high quality, customer-oriented services and support that enable a productive and stable instructional, research, and administrative environment for the students, faculty, and staff of UNCG . The unit supports the full lifecycle of technology solutions through the acquisition, implementation, management, and support of instructional, research, and business software applications, including enterprise learning, research, and office use technologies. It also maintains and supports technology-equipped learning spaces, open-access computer labs, and hyflex environments, while providing reliable internal and external ITS communication services, including web and mobile application development. In addition, the unit facilitates computer hardware and peripheral device acquisition, installation, and repair, and offers training, consultation, and direct client assistance to support effective use of technology across the university. Through active participation in campus-wide initiatives, the team ensures that evolving information technology needs are assessed and addressed in alignment with institutional priorities.

Position Summary

The EUC Technical Services Coordinator reports to ITS and serves as a frontline technical resource providing audiovisual, presentation technology, and instructional technology support across Elliott University Center spaces and campus classrooms. This position ensures that technology systems in meeting rooms, conference spaces, and event venues are operational, well-maintained, and ready to support the diverse needs of the campus community.

The position works with student organizations, university departments, faculty, and external clients to assess technology needs and resolve issues related to presentation equipment, hybrid meeting systems, and classroom technology. Responsibilities include supporting audiovisual systems, providing guidance to building users, and assisting with events and scheduled programs.

This position collaborates with other members of the Classroom Technology team and the Technical Services team and campus partners to coordinate daily technology support and contribute to maintaining consistent, high-quality audiovisual and instructional technology services throughout the Elliott University Center.

Percentage Of Time 30

Audiovisual and Presentation Technology Support

Provide technical support for audiovisual, presentation, and hybrid meeting technology systems in Elliott University Center spaces including meeting rooms, conference spaces, the EUC Auditorium, and the Cone Ballroom. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with sound reinforcement systems, video displays, projection systems, microphones, and other AV equipment to ensure reliability for scheduled events and daily use. Assist users — including faculty, staff, student organizations, and external clients — with operating presentation technology, connecting personal devices, and launching meetings or presentations. Document recurring technical issues and solutions to improve service delivery and support consistent resolution of common problems.

Event Technology Operations

Coordinate audiovisual and presentation technology support for events hosted within the Elliott University Center, including setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment. Meet event organizers to identify technical needs and help determine appropriate technology solutions for meetings, conferences, performances, and other programs. Support livestreaming and hybrid event technologies as required and assist with the technical logistics of large-scale events. Review the event schedule regularly to plan and prepare technology resources and ensure support is available for all scheduled events.

Classroom and Meeting Room Technology Assistance

Respond to requests for in-person technical assistance in classrooms and EUC meeting spaces experiencing technology issues and provide timely resolution to minimize disruption. Provide walk-in and scheduled support for faculty, staff, and students needing assistance with room technology, presentation equipment, or hybrid meeting tools. Inspect and test classroom and meeting room technology systems on a regular basis to identify and address issues proactively before scheduled use. Communicate system issues, outages, and repair needs to the Technical Services team and assist with follow-up and resolution tracking.

Technology Planning, Supervision and Professional Development

Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices in audiovisual systems, classroom technology, and event support to better serve the needs of campus programs. Participate in workshops, training opportunities, and professional development activities related to AV systems, event technology, and instructional technology. Assist in evaluating new technologies for potential implementation and make recommendations to improve existing systems and infrastructure. Support the development and documentation of policies, procedures, and user guides that promote consistent and effective use of technology within the EUC . Provide support to staff responsible for audiovisual services within the Elliott University Center.

Collaboration and Customer Service

Work cooperatively with the Technical Services team, Reservations and Events staff, and other campus partners to coordinate technical support and ensure a positive experience for building users. Provide responsive, professional customer service to all EUC users, including faculty, staff, student organizations, and external clients. Participate in team meetings and communicate proactively regarding technology issues, event needs, and service improvements. Support the broader mission of the Elliott University Center as a hub for campus engagement by contributing to a welcoming, technology-re ready environment.
