Job summary

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is seeking a Project Engineer for a hybrid role in Syracuse, NY. The Project Engineer will develop Engineered-to-Order solutions for industrial applications, guiding projects from concept through manufacturing release with guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment, including relevant internship or Co-Op experience.
• No relocation; must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.
• Experience with ETO products and custom-engineered solutions preferred.
• Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD, AutoCAD 2D, SAP ERP, Enovia considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom product solutions in response to customer, distributor, and field inquiries.
• Prepare technical proposals and coordinate bid activities to support profitable growth.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation: drawings, schematics, BOMs, product specs, and installation docs.
• Perform product design, feasibility analysis, and risk assessments considering cost, manufacturability, reliability, codes, and certifications.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, operations, sourcing, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet technical and schedule requirements.
• Support manufacturing through product launch and provide technical guidance for production issues.
• Contribute to product improvements and new solutions based on customer and market needs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
