Job summary

Eaton in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Project Engineer to develop and execute Engineered-to-Order solutions for industrial applications. This hybrid role requires coordinating engineering activities from concept through manufacturing release, with guidance from senior staff.

You will collaborate with customers, sales, operations and suppliers, manage multiple projects, and contribute to continuous improvement while ensuring delivery on schedule and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of two years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• No sponsorship for immigration and no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT or related programs.
• Relocation is not offered; must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom product solutions in response to inquiries from customers, distributors, and field sales.
• Prepare technical proposals and coordinate bid activities to support profitable growth.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, schematics, BOMs, product specs, and installation docs.
• Perform product design, feasibility analysis, and risk assessments considering cost, manufacturability, reliability, and codes.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, operations, sourcing, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet requirements.
• Support manufacturing through product launch and provide guidance for production issues.
• Contribute to product improvements, new solutions, and design enhancements based on needs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and meet customer-driven timelines.
