Job summary

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is seeking an Associate for its Center for Ethics and Professionalism in Philadelphia. This hybrid role requires two days per week in either Philadelphia or Washington, DC, and reports to the Chief Advocacy Officer.

Responsibilities include developing ethics position papers, supporting committees, coordinating resolutions, and creating educational content for physicians, trainees, and students.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a clinical or bioethics discipline is required, with at least five years of related experience.
  • A Master's degree or PhD is highly preferred.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing ethics, professionalism, and human rights position papers and case studies.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Ethics, Professionalism, and Human Rights Committee, including meeting prep and logistics.
  • Oversee review and coordination of resolutions based on College ethics policy and follow-up.
  • Develop strategy and content for ethical education for physicians, trainees, and students.
  • Prepare summaries of current developments on ethics, professionalism, and human rights issues for ACP audiences.
