Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated Ethics teacher to deliver 16 class periods weekly for Middle and Upper School students in New York. You will collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum, communicate student progress to parents, and maintain accurate records while ensuring a respectful and confidential learning environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Ethics and strong communication, organizational, and professional development skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fields related to Ethics, Leadership or Health & Wellness.
• Prior experience with students from grades 6 to 12 preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Positive attitude with ability to listen effectively and accept feedback.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and familiarity with Google Workspace tools.

Responsibilities

• Teach 16 class periods per week of Ethics to Middle and Upper School students.
• Collaborate with colleagues by sharing resources and communicating about curriculum and students.
• Prepare for and communicate student performance and growth with parents at conferences.
• Address student behavioral issues to maintain a safe, calm classroom environment.
• Maintain accurate student records including grades and attendance.
• Support students' social and emotional growth and confidentiality of information.
• Attend departmental and school-wide meetings and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Perform other related projects and duties as needed.
