Shaw University invites applications for an Adjunct Ethics faculty member to teach the General Education Ethics course. The role involves administering the course load of up to 9 credit hours per semester, with flexibility to teach online courses as needed.
Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s in Ethics (or PhD) with a strong commitment to diversity, excellent communication, and organizational skills. Teaching at the university level is preferred; other duties may be assigned as required.
Reporting to the Department Head of Humanities, Arts, and Interdisciplinary Studies, Ethics Faculty are responsible
for teaching the General Education Ethics course. Teaching flexibility is highly desired.

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations
Must possess the minimum credential standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on
Colleges (SACSCOC), which normally includes at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or
suitable approved justifications.

Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, and carrying. Specific
vision abilities include the ability to use close vision. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to use
hands and fingers to handle or feel.
Masters or better.
PHD or better.
Experience with publishing and/or presenting research preferred.
Teaching experience at the university level preferred.
