Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to lead the pursuit and planning of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will develop accurate estimates, evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost, and collaborate with operations from bid through project handoff.

You will build detailed budgets, support buyout after award, and partner with project teams to set projects up for successful execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction.
• Experience with self-performed concrete/heavy civil work.
• Strong means/methods sequencing productivity understanding.
• Ability to read plans/specs/contracts.
• Proficient in takeoffs, cost analysis, and scope reviews.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price self-performed labor/materials/equipment.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure coverage of scope.
• Assess phasing, staging, logistics, constructability and sequencing.
• Prepare preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks and value-engineering opportunities to save costs.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Lead estimating-to-project handoffs and budgets.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.

We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You’ll Do

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
