Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, develop accurate estimates, and partner with operations from bid through project handoff.

You will evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost, not just perform takeoffs, while supporting subcontractor buyout and project handoff to execution teams.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and heavy civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labors, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
