Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in San Antonio is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to drive accurate, competitive estimates for infrastructure projects from bid through handoff.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials and equipment, evaluate scope and risk, and partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects is required.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.

We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.
