Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Arlington, TX is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to lead the development of accurate, competitive estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will collaborate closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff, evaluating scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just takeoffs.

You will develop estimates for treatment facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure, perform quantity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed concrete and heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of means, methods, sequencing and productivity.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and contracts.
• Proficiency in quantity takeoff and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.

We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills.
• Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
