Job summary

Swipejobs is seeking an experienced Estimator to support cost estimates for large-scale transmission, substation, and infrastructure projects. The hybrid role is based in New York, NY, with a minimum of three onsite days per week at 4 Irving Place.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on estimating, strong understanding of means and methods, and experience with energy infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on estimating experience.
• Experience developing cost estimates for complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods and cost drivers.
• Ability to interpret preliminary drawings and incomplete information.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, authorization, and appropriation estimates for complex projects.
• Prepare detailed estimates from drawings, scopes, and specs.
• Identify major cost drivers, risks, assumptions, and opportunities.
• Interpret preliminary designs and establish necessary estimating assumptions.
• Evaluate means and methods including labor, materials, and equipment.
