Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking an Estimator for cost estimates on HV/MV electrical power systems, including substations and transmission lines, on EPC/turnkey projects. The role can be based at our Albany, NY office or performed remotely.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in transmission-level cost estimating, familiarity with NEC/IEEE and related standards, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Bid2Win. Responsibilities include detailed takeoffs, bid packaging, RFP review, budgeting, and presenting

Qualifications

• Experience estimating cost for transmission-level substations and transmission lines.
• Experience with EPC substation/transmission projects.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, NESC, OSHA, NERC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC and building codes.
• Ability to develop cost estimates from limited design information.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates and project budgets for substation and transmission line projects.
• Review client RFP documents to determine scope, schedule and design criteria.
• Develop detailed material takeoffs and equipment/subcontractor bid packages.
• Respond to vendor and subcontractor RFI’s and evaluate bids.
• Present cost estimates to department and company leadership; assist in contract development and project turnover.
