Job summary

Tiello LLC is seeking an Estimator for structural steel/miscellaneous metals fabrication in Milwaukee, WI. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates for fabrication components such as stairs, railings, and ornamental metals, with a strong emphasis on interpreting drawings and using Tekla PowerFab.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimating experience in structural metal fabrication, excellent communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience within structural steel or miscellaneous metals fabrication.
• Strong background in structural steel/miscellaneous metals fabrication.
• Experience using Tekla PowerFab (FabSuite).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes, steel materials, and production workflows.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for miscellaneous metals fabrication projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings.
• Analyze project specifications, bid documents, and scope requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop competitive bid proposals while maintaining company profit margins.
• Collaborate with detailing, project management, and production teams throughout the estimating process.
• Review project drawings to identify scope gaps, RFIs, and value engineering opportunities.
• Participate in bid reviews and project turnover meetings after award.
• Assist with change order pricing as needed.
