Job summary

North American Renewables (NAR) is seeking a Solar Estimator to join our growing team. You will review drawings, specifications, proposals, and project documents to understand scope and key requirements, then prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, time, and overall project costs.

You will perform quantity take-offs, apply unit pricing, and manage quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. You will develop competitive pricing using market knowledge, participate in design reviews and site

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in solar, electrical, or civil construction.
• Ability to read civil and electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• High school diploma required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.

Responsibilities

North American Renewables (NAR) is looking for an experienced Solar Estimator to join our growing team. This position plays an important role in the estimating and pre-construction process for renewable energy projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Review drawings, specifications, proposals, and project documents to understand scope, systems, and key project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, time, and overall project costs.
• Perform quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing to establish project values.
• Prepare and manage requests for quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop competitive pricing using market knowledge, historical costs, and previous project experience.
• Prepare scopes of work, including qualifications, assumptions, and exclusions.
• Compare subcontractor and supplier pricing to evaluate overall project costs.
• Participate in design reviews, pre-construction strategy meetings, bid reviews, and site walkthroughs.
• Assist with RFP and RFQ responses and support customer scope and bid reviews.
• Develop detailed project handoff packages for construction teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Research and develop relationships with new subcontractors.
• Generate RFIs throughout the bidding process.
• Help ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in solar, electrical, or civil construction.
• General understanding of commercial solar construction.
• Ability to read and understand civil and electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and confidence participating in client and scope review calls.
• Ability and reliable transportation to attend project site visits.
• High school diploma required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
