About this Position

Role and Responsibilities

Summary

Responsible for the estimating and handling of a variety of residential and commercial property damage claims including fire, water, wind, and collision. Candidates must be empathetic, provide excellent customer service, and be self‑motivated to sell services in a fast‑paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Complete site inspections on all project assignments and gather and input data compiled during field inspections to prepare accurate, timely estimates.
  • Negotiate directly with insurance representatives and third‑party administrators.
  • Work directly with property owners to address and resolve time‑sensitive property damage claims.
  • Show compassion with property owners and project payees when dealing with their loss.
  • Maintain accurate logging of all relevant communication pertaining to each job file and ensure compliance with all third‑party provider performance standards.
  • Demonstrate ability to be detail oriented and manage a large amount of information with multiple, time‑sensitive tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge of general construction and property damage restoration methods.
  • Takes instruction from assigned manager and communicates with them regularly.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Xactimate, PSA, Encircle, Luxor CRM, and Microsoft Outlook.

Required Education and Experience

  • College degree (2‑ or 4‑year).
  • 2–4 years’ experience in construction estimating or related field.
  • Specialized training: IICRC FSRT, IICRC WRT, IICRC ASD, IICRC OCT.
  • Certificates and licenses: WI Dwelling Contractor, valid driver’s license.

Equipment

  • Ipad/tablet, smartphone, laptop, measuring tools, ladder, and other miscellaneous equipment as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment is partially on job sites that may be damaged by fire, flooding, wind damage, or other structural damage. The employee must be able to move freely over uneven and/or debris‑ridden sites, and perform site inspections post‑disaster. Reporting and management interaction occur in a professional office setting. Lifting may be required. Travel within the tri‑state region may be requested. The employee is exposed to wet or humid conditions, hot or cold weather, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually moderate.
