Job summary

ProSource Group is seeking an experienced Estimator in New York to support ground-up construction and commercial interiors projects. You will prepare detailed estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, review drawings and specifications, and analyze bids to deliver accurate, competitive results.

The ideal candidate reads plans well, coordinates with subcontractors, and helps transition awarded work into operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating for ground-up construction and/or commercial interiors.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience completing takeoffs, scope reviews, and bid comparisons.

Role Overview

ProSource Group is recruiting an Estimator on behalf of an established general contractor delivering ground-up construction and commercial interiors projects. This position will support the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates, including quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, subcontractor pricing, and bid analysis. The successful candidate must have estimating experience within either ground-up construction or commercial interiors. Experience across both areas would be highly desirable but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and preliminary project budgets.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Complete scope reviews and bid leveling to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, clarifications, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal teams throughout the bidding and preconstruction process.
• Support the transition of awarded projects from estimating into operations.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, pricing information, and bid documentation.

Requirements

• Previous construction estimating experience within ground-up construction and/or commercial interiors.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience completing takeoffs, scope reviews, and subcontractor bid comparisons.
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and project costs.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines.
• Experience across both ground-up construction and commercial interiors is desirable but not essential.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range of $140,000–$180,000.
